To share information about COVID-19 with Flint and Genesee County residents, the Healthy Flint Research Coordinating Center will be hosting the 50^th episode of the Flint Community Weekly COVID Webinar on Friday, February 26, 2021, from 12 pm – 1 pm.

At the onset of the coronavirus pandemic almost one year ago, Flint community leaders quickly organized and went into action. The goal is to provide a local context to this global pandemic and promote health and health equity by disseminating credible COVID related information to help protect the people of Flint.

“We know that our health is our wealth. We want to deliver reliable and trustworthy health information to protect Flint families,” says E. Yvonne Lewis, BBA, BS, webinar moderator, Flint resident, and Founder/CEO of the National Center for African American Health Consciousness. “Now we must focus our efforts on the equitable distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine. We have a large team of local community leaders working behind the scenes to ensure Flint/Genesee County residents have the latest scientific data they need to make informed decisions when they become eligible for the vaccine.”

The Healthy Flint Research Coordinating Center in partnership with the Flint Center for Health Equity Solutions and many public health leaders launched the first community webinar in March of 2020. Highlights from 50 weeks of webinars include COVID-19 updates on how to protect yourself, testing, vaccines, a review of data-driven trends, and more.

In celebration of 50 weeks, we honor the dedication of local panelists and partners. Individuals that attend have an opportunity to submit questions to community organization leaders, faculty experts, and community members who are working tirelessly to eliminate COVID-19 racial disparities and move the health and well-being of Flint forward.
