Michigan State University’s Charles Stewart Mott Department of Public Health has announced Ted R. Miller, PhD, has joined the department as a C.S. Mott Endowed Professor of Public Health, expanding the department’s expertise in trauma and injury prevention, public health, and substance use research.
In an undergraduate microbiology lab, I first learned how vaccination works – a lesson that went beyond antigens and antibodies. We explored how vaccines defend the body and how they've shaped population health over time. It was the first time I truly grasped the impact of vaccination, not just as a personal health measure, but as a powerful public health tool. In that lab, I gained a new perspective on vaccination as a form of infrastructure.
The MSU Master of Public Health program Workforce Development Committee is charged with helping to meet the professional development needs of the public health workforce in Greater Flint and surrounding areas.
It holds free, bimonthly virtual workshops on topics relevant to public health organizations on Friday mornings.
