Associate Professor
Nicole Jones, PhD, MS, is a perinatal epidemiologist with over 20 years of experience on research teams and projects related to maternal and child health. She is the Director of the Flint Registry, a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention funded project designed to identify and support individuals impacted by lead-contamination during the Flint Water Crisis. In collaboration with broad community-based partners, Dr. Jones leads a dynamic team of 30 registry staff.
More than 22,000 individuals have enrolled in the Flint Registry, and the program has made more than 49,000 referrals to health, education, and other community resources.
Dr. Jones’ scholarly interests include perinatal epidemiology, cohort development, and public health registries.
Prior to her current role, she served as Associate Director of the Biomedical Research Informatics Core within MSU’s Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute. Across her work, she brings together epidemiology, data systems, and community partnership to ensure that public health information is not simply collected, but used to improve community health.
