Admission and Application Requirements for the MPH
Admission to the Masters of Public Health degree program requires the following items:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university - Official copies of transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended (minimum GPA 3.0) - Test results from standardized graduate or professional school test - Supplemental Information Form - Three (3) letters of recommendation - Personal essay describing interest/experience in public health discipline and career goals - English Proficiency Exam if non-native speaker (TOEFL, MELAB, MSUELT or IELTS)
Admission to the Masters in Public Health program does not require any specific prerequisite courses. Students are encouraged to review formal writing and citation standards as well as basic biostatistics in an effort to enhance their experience.

Application to the Masters of Public Health degree program requires the following items:
Complete and submit the following using the MSU Graduate School website: - MSU Graduate School Application - $50 Application Fee
Complete and submit the following within the Graduate Information Management System (GIMS) under the College of Human Medicine: - Supplemental Information Form - Official transcript from each post-secondary university attended (minimum GPA 3.0, no prerequisites) - Official test scores from standardized graduate or professional school test less than 5 years old Institution Code: 1465 (a waiver may be requested for special situations) - Three (3) letters of recommendation - Personal essay - Resume or CV - Angel tutorial*
Additional Requirements for International Applicants interested in a visa to study in East Lansing: - Official test scores of English Language Proficiency Exam (TOEFL, MELAB, MSUELT or IELTS) Institution Code: 1465 - Proof of financial support
*All applicants are required to complete a tutorial for online education using MSU’s online learning and course delivery system, Angel. Upon receipt of all application documents, applicants will be emailed a log-in ID and password to access the tutorial. All components of the tutorial must be completed before applications will be considered.
