Public Health 101 is a survey course that provides an overview of public health with an emphasis on the population perspective and the crosscutting, integrative nature of public health. Current public health events and detailed case studies are used to illustrate real-world nature of the material and its pervasiveness in our lives. This course encourages critical thinking, involves group discussions and team projects, and promotes written communication abilities. Students are exposed to possible career options in public health and the allied health professions/sciences.
